Free courses for bio-entrepreneurs seeking capital

Entrepreneurial companies in the bioeconomy sector find that raising the capital needed to scale up can be a challenge. To meet this challenge, we have developed a programme with over 10 courses targeted at bio-entrepreneurs seeking capital together with a line of growth experts within the frame of the EU project MPowerBIO,

The courses are available online for free and aim to help entrepreneurs learn about topics such as market validation, crowdfunding, EU funding opportunities and how to deliver a compelling investor pitch. The courses aim to equip promising entrepreneurs in the bioeconomy sector to seek capital.

- MPowerBIO has been a very valuable project for all the partners in the project because it has given us even more tools that we can use to support companies that are looking for investment. And it is extra valuable that the online videos developed during the project are still available, so companies can continue to benefit from the project even after it has ended, says Britt Sandvad, Senior Innovation Manager at Food & Bio Cluster Denmark and MPowerBIO project coordinator.

MPowerBIO finale: the "Tech Tour Bioeconomy 2022"

In addition to online courses, the recently completed project also offered opportunities for pitch training, pitch competitions and a final pitch event where 30 startups from the bioeconomy sector pitched in front of a panel of leading investors from the bio-based industry.

The event took place on 5 October in Wuppertal, Germany and featured inspiring elevator pitches from the companies, several pitch sessions and some reverse pitch sessions. In addition, the event was a great opportunity to network and make valuable contacts.
