Help for ambitious bio-entrepreneurs seeking capital

13 June 2022

Access to venture capital and the right skills are a necessity to scale innovative start-ups. However, many start-ups in the bioeconomy sector find that raising the necessary capital can be a challenge.

To address some of the challenges that entrepreneurs typically face, we have put together a tailored development programme in collaboration with growth experts in the European project MPowerBIO, which is designed to equip entrepreneurs to seek capital.

Pitch training, networking and access to investors

As part of the programme, companies are offered coaching and mentoring sessions, participation in workshops, networking and access to investors, among other things - and the help is free of charge.

Through online courses, internal MPowerBIO growth experts will offer entrepreneurs customized trainings on topics such as, market validation, crowdfunding, sales and marketing channels, EU funding opportunities and how to deliver a compelling investor pitch. Common to all courses is that they are designed specifically to support promising entrepreneurs in the bioeconomy sector.

The bioresource companies with the best projects will have the opportunity to present their business ideas to a panel of investors, experts from major organisations and investment funds in a European forum with the aim of attracting capital to grow and develop their business.

About MPowerBIO

The SME Business Support Programme is part of the MPowerBIO project, in which more than 250 companies will be offered support from capital experts. The project is designed to help SMEs overcome the difficult path from idea to business through external investment.
