Join the green movement: Global summit invites you to shape the future of sustainable food and bioresource systems

September this year will be a little greener. On 26-27 September, Food & Bio Cluster Denmark is hosting the first summit of its kind, Food & Bio Global Summit '23, where industry leaders, startups, SMEs, scientific experts and stakeholders are invited to take part in the change towards a greener future.

"Join the global movement"

This is the theme of the summit, which takes place in the beautiful surroundings of Aarhus City Hall in Aarhus, Denmark. A theme that stems from the intention to bring together leading industry players, scientific experts, startups, SMEs and stakeholders in a joint effort to drive the transition to sustainable ecosystems in the food and bioresource industry.

A global movement: together towards the same goal

Food & Bio Cluster Denmark is the main organiser of the summit and has invited clusters from around the world to join forces for change. Clusters that play a crucial role in accelerating innovation and collaboration in the food and bioresource industry. And the goal is clear: the current food and bioresource systems must change, and the world's leading industry and science must work together to develop transition pathways to new sustainable ecosystems.

- We are on a burning platform. The world population is growing and we need to produce more food and produce in a more sustainable way. That is why we have invited the leading clusters globally. Clusters that are all currently facing the same challenge and understand the need to act and react now. Together, we will join forces to come up with new and concrete solutions. Solutions that are not just quick fixes, but that need to be put into action very soon, says Lars Visbech Sørensen, CEO of Food & Bio Cluster Denmark, on the background for organising a global summit.

Global inspiration from industry peers

In addition to presentations from industry luminaries, the summit gives attendees the opportunity to help shape the future of our food and bioresource systems and make a real difference.

The two-day event will be packed with inspiring presentations, plenty of networking opportunities with international colleagues, 1:1 matchmaking and the chance to participate in one of the four summit labs. And since the summit brings together participants from all over the world, you will have a unique opportunity to gain inspiration from industry colleagues globally. The air in Aarhus City Hall is likely to be thick with inspiration and ideas about innovation and product development. And for summit attendees, it is likely to be a gateway to new ways of working.

Summit Labs: Your active role in shaping the future

Looking over the programme, you will see the title "Summit Labs" on both days of the programme.

When you register as a guest, you can choose which of the four so-called "labs" you want to participate in. In these labs, you will be part of a group specifically dedicated to discussing key topics that are crucial to driving sustainable food systems.

So, there is an opportunity to participate in discussions, brainstorm innovative solutions and help shape the future of sustainable food systems, and your perspective on the topic could very well be the door opener to something bigger and an accelerator for change. The four labs are:

#1 Positive Plant Based Nutrition: Exploring ways to promote healthy and sustainable nutrition practices.

#2 Technologies to maximizing biomass production for multiuse purpose: Unleashing the potential of bioresources to create value and minimise waste.

#3 Circular Green Transition: Identifying strategies for a greener and carbon-neutral food production landscape.

#4 Radical new food production systems: Harnessing the power of technology to drive innovative and sustainable food production practices.
