Rob Zaagman, the Dutch ambassador to Denmark, recently visited Food & Bio Cluster Denmark in Aarhus. The big topic of conversation was increased collaboration to solve the challenges of the future.
Rob Zaagman met with Lars Visbech Sørensen, CEO of Food & Bio CLuster Denmark, who told about our work for the development of the entire value chain around food and bio-resources in Denmark - and beyond the country's borders.
Food & Bio Cluster Denmark has a number of projects with a Dutch connection - for example S3FOOD, Global Climate Alliance, SalFar and AgriFoodCapital.
“Denmark and the Netherlands have a very similar mindset and the same approach to solving some of the common challenges we face. It was exciting to hear how much co-operation already exists between Denmark and the Netherlands in this area - and it is important to point out that we want to expand and intensify that co-operation,“ said Ambassador Rob Zaaagman after the visit.
That approach is in line with Food & Bio Cluster Denmark's work:
“As the cluster that works for innovation within food and bioresources in Denmark, there is a lot we can reflect on from the Netherlands. The Dutch are a little bit ahead in their cluster mindset, while we are quite new still. On the other hand, we are somewhat puffed up when it comes to innovation and technology, for example. We already have many collaborative projects with Dutch partners, but we look forward to developing an even closer collaboration in the future,” says Lars Visbech Sørensen.
The visit of the Dutch ambassador was part of a delegation organised by Food Nation.
